@color that sounds like a use case for using multiple scenes. By design, images in a single scene have the same look. This is to facilitate color grading workflows for integration into video workflows. Why not use multiple scenes? You can quickly cycle through Scenes by pressing TAB (SHIFT + TAB to reverse) on your keyboard. You can also copy color grades between scenes.
There are still some differences. As a photographer, the scene color and shooting parameters are basically the same, but it needs to be fine-tuned in the later stage because of a little different angle. The scene may be better understood as an adjustment of different color styles. Of course, this is not necessary. This fine-tuning can also be put on other image software as a pre-step. In addition, it seems that the preset saving function of "color. IO" is not available, and the adjustment parameters cannot be copied at present.
@color Ah, I understand - yes that makes perfect sense from a photography standpoint. I do have plans to support more image-specific adjustments (noise removal, cropping, rotation etc) in the future and that would be a great place to include image-specific color variations as well. I'm currently in the process of gathering as much user feedback as possible to decide what the best future directions for the app will be. Once the groundwork for image-specific adjustments has been laid, I will start rolling out user presets. Doing it now would make it really complicated to ensure preset backwards compatibility as we expect to continue making fundamental changes to the application for the next year or so.
"The adjustment parameters cannot be copied at present"
Click on a Scene Tab ▼ -> Copy Grade. Select another Scene ▼ -> Paste Grade.
If something is not working, please create a separate Bug Report. If you want to copy individual adjustment parameters please create a separate Feature Request.

Just to give everyone an update: This is something I am actively working on. The main challenge has been to find an architecture that supports both Scene-based grading and image specific adjustments. I now have a solution that I'm happy with and will be able to roll out the first image-specific effect within the next 14 days. Image editing will be done inside of a new integrated editor. The first thing I'll add is crop/rotate but the editor will be enhanced with additional image-effects and masks as we go along. The current scene-based grading will remain unaffected by this.
FYI, the new image editor has been published with the latest update. Right now, it only includes crop and rotate but will be enhanced with additional image-specific processes to correct exposure, saturation and color toning for each individual image prior to the scene-wide color grade.
If I understand it right I would also welcome applying multiple ‚layers‘ to one photo. For example if I want to make use of the Color Range Mask for two different color regions or in two different ways, I am screwed, aren’t I? Unless, of course, I save the image between the two adjustments.
New features related to this topic
New: Frame Tool
The new frame tool is part of the image editing workspace and like Crop and Rotate also works on a per-image basis. I recorded a short video showcasing this new tool here: https://www.instagram.com/p/C4JGRABIIjJ/
New: Image shortcuts
With the latest update, when you right-click on an image thumbnail in the preview gallery, you can quickly open any image in another scene:
Open in duplicate scene will open the image a new scene with the settings of the current scene. Use this to make per-image fine tunings based on a grade established for an entire scene first.
Open in blank scene will open the image in a new scene that has no changes applied to it yet.
