Hi @zane - thank you for reporting this! Could you send me a .cr2 file that's not opening correctly to jonathan@color.io so I can investigate? I suspect that Safari is trying (and failing) to do some conversion behind the scenes. We've had similar issues with .heic files but were able to work around this. Thanks!
@zane - the latest update fixes a number of issues with very high resolution images on iOS devices and you should be able to open your .cr2 files now.
I had to work around an inherent limitation imposed by Apple - it's essentially not possible to work with images containing more than 16.7 million pixels in iOS Safari. Color.io can now detect this platform limitation and down-sample large images to the maximum available size before processing.
Unfortunately this means that there's an upper limit of 16.7 million pixels for both import and export on iOS devices. From experience I'd say that's still plenty of pixels and should be fine for most photos.
Still, since this is most definitely a deliberate limitation that Apple is imposing to protect their native app store products, here's the appropriate form where everyone should complain about this kind of gate keeping: https://www.apple.com/feedback/safari.html
